Oct 7 2015 We caught up with legendary film maker Stanley Nelson to talk about his latest documentary The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution. He sheds light on what inspired him to make this documentary and what stories he wanted to tell but were not able to be included in this two hour film. We talk to him about why it took over 7 years to get this film produced.
We also talked to Stanley Nelson about what it was like filming Panther in comparison to his other documentaries like Freedom Riders and Summer of 64 which focuses on Civil Rights era icons..
Later on in the show we pay tribute to long time freedom fighter Grace Lee Boggs who passed just before we went on the air. We play a speech that she gave back in 2012.
